Northeast Area Command
Captain James Larochelle
The Northeast Area Command (NEAC) once known as “Fort Mojave” was built in 1988 and was originally located at 831 N. Mojave. On August 15, 2009, NEAC was relocated to a modern building located at 3750 Cecile Ave. The Northeast Area Command covers over 40 square miles and is responsible for the unincorporated city of Overton as well.
Our eastern border nestles up against the majestic Sunrise Mountain known for its beautiful scenic views of the Las Vegas Valley. The Nellis Air Force base with their flying Thunderbirds as well as the Las Vegas Speedway is located on the furthest Northeastern part of our area command. The southern boundary is Sahara and our western boundary is Eastern Avenue and each border the City of North Las Vegas.
The Northeast Area Command has long been known for its diverse culture and demographics. Its dynamic nature and community needs present many challenges for law enforcement personnel and our outreach program participants. We are constantly looking for innovative methods to partner with the area citizens, local businesses, faith based organizations and civic leaders to reach a common goal of reducing crime and improving the overall quality of life. In turn, these challenges are obtainable while partnering with the community in making Las Vegas the Safest Community in America.
